Planning a wedding, birthday party, or backyard get-together in Middletown usually means figuring out where the drinks get served — and most hosts end up with a folding table and a tablecloth. Our portable event bar is the better option: a full-size bar, 41 inches tall like a standard bar counter, that sets up where your event is, serves all evening, and comes completely apart when the night ends. It looks like real furniture in your photos, then stores flat instead of taking up half the garage.

The bar has an interior shelf behind the counter for bottles, glassware, and supplies, and the whole thing breaks down into five flat pieces on lift-away hinges. Setup takes no tools and no loose hardware. The flat pieces fit in most SUVs and truck beds, so the same bar can serve a wedding in Hershey one weekend and a backyard party in Harrisburg the next. See the full dimensions and finish options on the 5-foot portable collapsible event bar product page.

Why MDF? We chose MDF — an engineered wood panel — for one reason: portability. A bar this size in solid wood would weigh over 200 pounds, too heavy to move alone, and you would never take it to an event. In MDF, each panel is light enough for one person to carry, load, and set up solo. MDF is also consistent — no warping, no knots — and takes paint beautifully for a clean, smooth finish.

Two sizes are available. The 5-foot bar is $800 painted in white or black, or $700 raw if you would rather finish it yourself. The 6-foot bar is $950 painted and $850 raw. Every bar is built to order, so allow about two weeks from order to delivery — your bar is made for your event, not pulled off a warehouse shelf.

Your bar is built locally. Orders in the Middletown area are made by a local craftsman in The Wobbly Carpenter network, working out of a shop right in Middletown, along the Susquehanna River in Dauphin County. You can read more about how the network works on our Middletown builder profile page. Built by a local craftsman in The Wobbly Carpenter network. Every builder signs our craftsman agreement, and insurance and background check are verified before their first build. Because the bar is built nearby, you are not paying to ship a bulky piece of furniture across the country.

Pickup and delivery are simple. Pick up your finished bar free, or have it hand-delivered for $75 anywhere within 40 miles of the builder's shop — covering Middletown, Harrisburg, Hershey, Hummelstown, Elizabethtown, Mount Joy, Lancaster, York, Carlisle, Mechanicsburg, Camp Hill, and Palmyra. All sales are final once you sign the delivery form, and every bar comes with a 30-day limited structural warranty — if anything structural fails within 30 days of delivery, we'll make it right.
