Planning a wedding, birthday party, or backyard get-together in Wilmington usually means deciding where the drinks get served — and a folding table covered with a cloth is the option most hosts settle for because nothing better is on hand. Our portable event bar is the better option: a full-size bar you can set up where your event is, serve from all evening, and then take completely apart when the night ends. It is built for events first, and for storage second, which is the order that matters when the party is at your house one month and somewhere else the next.

Here is what that means in practice. The 5-foot bar stands 41 inches tall, is 5 feet wide and 22 inches deep, and has an interior shelf behind the counter for bottles, glassware, and supplies. The bar fully collapses flat via lift-away hinges and breaks into five flat pieces, with no tools needed for setup. Those flat pieces fit in most SUVs and truck beds, so the same bar that serves at your event can travel to the next one and store flat in between. The bar is made from MDF panels over an internal frame — some builders use 3/8-inch and some use 1/2-inch, depending on the builder. You can see the sizes and finish options on the 5-foot portable collapsible event bar product page, or build your own from our 5-foot DIY build plans (for personal use).

Two sizes are available. The 5-foot bar is $800 painted in white or black, or $700 raw (unfinished). The 6-foot bar is $950 painted, or $850 raw. Every bar is made to order, so your bar is built for your order rather than pulled from stock. If you choose a painted finish, the care guidance is simple: with frequent use, touch up the paint as needed to keep it looking sharp. If you would rather apply your own finish, the raw option gives you the same bar unfinished.

Your bar is built locally. Orders in the Wilmington area are made by a local craftsman in The Wobbly Carpenter network, working out of his own shop in the area. You can read more about how the network works on our Wilmington builder profile page. Built by a local craftsman in The Wobbly Carpenter network. Every builder signs our craftsman agreement, and insurance and background check are verified before their first build. Because the bar is built nearby, your order starts with a builder in your own area instead of a warehouse shipment crossing the country to reach you.

Pickup and delivery are simple. You can pick up your finished bar for free, or have it delivered within 40 miles of the builder's shop. Every bar is made to order, so plan on ordering ahead of your event date. Ordering happens through thewobblycarpenter.com: choose your size and finish, check out, and the checkout confirms that your delivery address is within range before your order is placed. If you are outside the delivery area, take a look at our other service areas and delivery locations — the network is growing, and new markets are added as local builders join in new areas.
