If you are planning a wedding, quinceañera, birthday party, or backyard get-together in San Antonio, the bar is usually the piece that gets figured out last — and it shows. A folding table with a tablecloth works, but it does not look like much in photos. Our portable event bar was built to fix that. It is a full-size, handcrafted bar, 41 inches tall like a standard bar counter, that sets up in minutes and looks like real furniture in front of your guests.
The bar is built from MDF panels over an internal frame, with an interior shelf behind the counter for bottles, glassware, and supplies. The whole thing comes completely apart into five flat pieces using lift-away hinges. There are no tools involved and no hardware to keep track of. When the night is over, it packs flat and fits in most SUVs and truck beds, so one person can haul it and store it in a garage corner until the next event. You can see the full dimensions and finish options on the 5-foot portable collapsible event bar product page.
Two sizes are available. The 5-foot bar is $800 painted in white or black, or $700 raw if you would rather finish it yourself. If you’d rather build one yourself for personal use, the same design is available as 5-foot DIY build plans. The wider 6-foot version is $950 painted and $850 raw. Every bar is made to order, so it is built for your event rather than pulled off a warehouse shelf. Mobile bartenders around San Antonio use them for private parties, and hosts use them for everything from Hill Country weddings to Fiesta-season backyard parties.
Your bar is built locally. Orders in the San Antonio area are made by a local craftsman in The Wobbly Carpenter network, working out of his own shop in the area. You can read more about how the network works on our San Antonio builder profile page. Built by a local craftsman in The Wobbly Carpenter network. Every builder signs our craftsman agreement, and insurance and background check are verified before their first build. Because the bar is built nearby, you are not paying to ship a bulky piece of furniture across the country, and if you ever have a question about your bar, it was made by someone in your own community.
Pickup and delivery are simple. You can pick up your finished bar for free, or have it delivered, anywhere within 40 miles of the builder's shop — which covers most of San Antonio and the surrounding suburbs. Every bar is made to order, so plan on ordering ahead of your event date. Ordering happens through thewobblycarpenter.com: choose your size and finish, check out, and the checkout confirms that your delivery address is within range before your order is placed. If you are outside the delivery area, take a look at our other service areas and delivery locations — the network is growing, and new markets are added as local builders join. Whether it is for one big wedding or a season of weekend events, a collapsible bar that stores flat is a lot easier to own than one that takes up half the garage. Hosting over in East Texas instead?
